What is a Quilt?

At its core, a quilt is a type of bedding traditionally composed of three layers:

  • A top layer: Often pieced or appliquéd, showcasing intricate designs and patterns.

  • A middle layer: The batting, providing warmth and insulation. Commonly made from cotton, wool, polyester, or blends.

  • A bottom layer: The backing fabric, typically a single piece of fabric.

These three layers are then stitched together, creating a durable and visually appealing textile. But a quilt is so much more than just a blanket; it's a story told in fabric, a testament to creativity and craftsmanship, and a cozy source of comfort.
